The V12 Alpina. Even if its v12 makes less hp than the V600. Also in the case of a GT looks come into play and I like the Bimmer better in that regard. Plus the sound of a v12. Did I mention V12?

I'm from the US. V8 sound is all over the place. I rarely get to hear V12 exhaust music.

Yes. There is such a thing as too much power. And I think that the balance of the Alpina approach, in this very specific regard, would be preferable. In this dream world where this is really an option.

To be fair...
A finely-balanced 430-horsepower V12, understressed and over-engineered and forming the basis for what eventually became the car which held the world record for fastest production sports car of all time for a good long while...
VERSUS
A supercharged, 600-horsepower V8 crammed with induction until it's bursting at the seams, hand-assembled by a bloke, and stuffed into a mid-'90s chassis with all that that implies...
Now, I'm certainly not going to turn down the Aston if someone comes along to gift me one, and it is an absolutely bonkers car, no doubt about it, but 430 horsepower I can use versus 600 that I really can't put down, well, I know which one I'm going to want for the long haul. The Aston is a memorable summer fling, a one-night stand you'll fondly recall on your deathbed, but perhaps a bit raucous to bring home to mom. The Bimmer is a little plainer, a little slower, a little more boring, but it's still a corker, by anyone's standards, and though she's high-maintenance, she's less likely to kill you by accident.
Plus, the BMW looks better to my eyes. The V600 is from Aston's weird, awkward, teenage years in the 1990s, when they couldn't really decide between the boxy and sharp look of the '80s or sleek and swoopy look of today.
